THERE’S NO TIME LIKE THE PAST

THERE’S NO TIME LIKE THE PAST •

On December 15th, 2024, Fairfax is Dead will host its inaugural pop-up event at a long-standing gallery on Fairfax. The exhibition and market will showcase over a dozen local artists, featuring a diverse range of works from sculptures and mixed media to paintings, screenprints and unique garments.

The event aims to promote community engagement and spark conversations about the evolving landscape of LA and its creative subcultures, especially in response to recent changes and challenges.

Fairfax is Dead is a multifaceted nostalgia project and creative collective seeking to address LA’s challenges while pushing for positive change. The name acts as a metaphor for cultural decline, capturing the bittersweet feeling shared by many who fear LA’s golden era is in the past. Once the Mecca of creative individuality and innovative streetwear, Fairfax Ave is now a haunting strip of boarded-up shops and “For Lease” signs.

Come witness community history, meet other local creatives and inquire to be a part.
